Sunday in Salzburg

The church bells rang for at least 15 minutes.  There was a procession of parishioners from each section of Salzburg, each with there own band.
There was even representation of their guard.  It must have been a horse guard, minus their horses because they had spurs on their boots.  After everyone had entered the cathedral, cannons were fired from the fortress. I guess the take church attendance seriously.
Since it was a rainy day, we decided to do the museums.  The Residenz was the home of the Prince who was also the Arch Bischop.  Like most royal palaces it was very ornate.  They lived very well, while the peasants next to nothing.  You cannot take pictures inside, but you can in Saint Peter's cathedral

This is the massive organ, and the following picture is some of the pipes.  I could not get them all in one picture

Later we went to a concert that featured music by a harpsichord and a soprano soloist.  Obviously it was heavy on Mozart.  We met a couple who were joining a Rick Steve tour the next day.
In the courtyard outside, many horse carriages were lined up waiting for the tourists.
