Rothenburg Germany

Staying in Rothenburg , allowed us to get an early start and beat all the tour bus vacationers to the best spots. We were able to " walk the wall" without having to slip around hoards of people. As you can see by the pictures, there is not a lot of room and the ceilings are just about 6 feet, smaller in some openings.

This was a real head knocker!
A tight squeeze.

This was a very solid wood door, and beautifully carved.

After the wall, we went to the Historical Vaults.
This museum reflects life during the Thirty Years War. The museum is under the Town Hall. It houses the dungeons, but if you want to see pictures of them, you have to go to Mike's blog as he has a much better camera for taking pictures in dark places.

Down to the dungeon

We sat at an outdoor cafe to have a latte before heading to the Medieval Crime Museum. They were really big on torture in that time.

These are shame masks

How would you like to sit in the spiked chair.
