Fussen to Rothenburg

Before we got up this morning, we had quite a thunderstorm, but by the time we were ready to walk to the train station it was just overcast. The train ride to Rothenburg took 5 hours. We changed trains 4 times, actually 5 as we got off to soon. You have to be very careful as some towns have more than one station. Augsburg has. 3. Lucky for us there was another train in just a few minutes, so we had plenty of time to catch the right train and get back on track, pun intended. Some times you have less than 5 minutes to get from track 2 to track 7 which requires you to walk down steps to a hallway under the trains, then up steps to the correct platform.
There are wonderful green fields with cows grazing along the way. I forgot to mention, on the train trip to Fussen we passed a farm that had about 20 camels. Yes you read that right. I wish I saw it coming so I would have had my camera out.
We got to Rothenburg about 1:30. It took about ten minute to walked to the walled Medevil town. Our hotel is very close to the entrance. During the day, the town is filled with tour buses, but they start to thin out about 3. This picture was taken from the train of the countryside

Our hotel is on the Main Street. This is taken looking up to the town square.

The next picture was taken in the square.

We plan to take the Nightwatchman's tour tonight.
